The signs to navigate the site to reach the firefly on foot could be better.
House was lovely.

It would a good idea to leave instructions on how to use the appliances. We had to go to You Tube to watch a video on how to use the hob. Having older people with us they would not of been able to work this out, as well as having to show them how to use the combination microwave. There was a book in the house but the information was very limited. Would be good for local information such as taxi ride, take away, etc. No idea how to use or where the sound system was either. No outside bin for dog waste. We disposed of this at the bin station but used a carrier back outside to put in the collected bags. No housekeeping instructions about leaving the property such as stripping beds or dirty laundry. Could not hoover up as the power pack for the hoover had ran out and we could not find the charge for this. TV was locked to child setting.

The house itself was great - very well designed, well suited to our group which included a few children. Activity centre was great, ability to hire kit and simplicity of system great.
Very impressed with the food at the Firefly - something I'll mention to others.

The property could do with a really good clean inside and out. We loved every bit of our weeks stay and the property was everything we wanted. No oven gloves didn’t help when removing things from the oven though. The river frontage was spectacular and the setting was perfect. The BBQ was a bit disappointing as it had to have special coals and we couldn’t find these locally to make use of it sadly. It could do with an outdoor balcony seating

We had an issue with the toilet in one of the bedrooms. The estate sent an engineer but it was not able to be fixed whilst we were there.
It would also be good to have some beach chairs to use during the stay.

This is the second year we have stayed in Songbird, third consecutive year at Silverlake, and we very much enjoy the house and the estate. On both occasions that we stayed in Songbird however the outside spaces were not up to the same cleaning standard as we would expect and on both occasions we had to ask the estate team to some and clean. We understand that being on a building site and in nature means there is a lot of dust, cobwebs etc but these looked left uncleaned for several weeks so a freshen up before guests arrive would mean a better, more positive experience.
There was also confusion about who was actually our holiday management team. We booked with Habitat escapes but when we arrived all of the information in the house was from Curated Cottages. We then learned that this was a mistake from the cleaning team but it made things very confusing.
I would also like to mention that sadly this will be the last year we stay in Songbird. We absolutely love this house and whilst we expect a year on year increase as the cost of living increases and the site becomes more popular (the increase from year one was £1668 to £1906) the price now that the owners have chosen to move to Curated Cottages has increased from £1906 to £3,300 for the same week next year, more than a 50% increase. This is incredibly disappointing.

We had such a lovely stay at the Silverlake Estate , the property was immaculate other than a stained mattress which we happily covered with a sheet. Reason for small mark downs to a 9 was purely an accident we had on arrival ( which was dealt with promptly ) and the ants . Understandably we are where wildlife are but when they appear on kitchen surfaces and food it was a little frustrating, We also met a few unhappy people (owners) at the pool that spoke to our son inappropriately when he splashed in the pool, such a shame as all the children were having so much fun with their families. Other than these few minor things we had an enjoyable stay.

We had a fantastic time and the property was perfect for us. My only niggle would be that the barbecue is faulty (ignition, temperature control) meaning that we had to use matches and it was difficult to cook on
